Cowgirls Fall Late in Fourth

Spearfish, SD-The Cowgirls started the road trip in South Dakota.

1st Half: Black Hills State (BHSU) 29- NMHU 29

Both teams struggled to shoot in the first quarter of today's contest only scoring a combined total of the 22 points with BHSU having the lead the second quarter however the Cowgirls offense would come alive scoring 20 points led by Kapiolani Anitielu who scored eight of her 19 points in that quarter but the huge scoring run would be enough as it was all tied at 29 headed into the break.

2nd Half: BHSU 52-67 - NMHU 46-60

Coming out of the break, Black Hills State would have the hot hand as they rallied up and scored 23 points in the third quarter of play and that quarter would be enough of a lead as in the fourth they only outscored the Cowgirls by one point in the fourth but the deficit of six was just to much to over come on the road and the Cowgirls would end up falling 67-60.

FIRST TIME: This was the first time this season the Cowgirls did not have two or more players in double digits in points, as Kapiolani Anitielu had nineteen points in this one.

Up Next: The Cowgirls are back in action as they head to Chadron State on Saturday. Tip off at 1:00 PM.
