Cowboys Host Central Oklahoma On Saturday Night

Las Vegas, New Mexico - New Mexico Highlands wrestling returns home Saturday night to host top-ranked Central Oklahoma at 7:00 p.m. inside the Wilson Complex.  

The Cowboys, listed among teams receiving votes in the latest NWCA Division II Top 25, are coming off a 30-9 setback at Chadron State last Sunday afternoon. Despite the result, New Mexico Highlands picked up three individual victories, highlighted by Terrell Kinlicheenie's 2-1 upset of eighth-ranked Caleb Chaves at 141 pounds. Seventh-ranked Ivan Smith followed with a 4-2 decision at 165, while Sebastian Freeman capped the night with a hard-fought 8-5 sudden-victory win at 149.

Central Oklahoma, a member of the MIAA, defeated the Cowboys 54-0 last season in Edmond. The Bronchos enter Saturday's dual with a 10-1 record, with their lone loss coming against Little Rock, a Top 25 Division I program. Central Oklahoma has won 16 straight true road duals against Division II opponents.
