Cowboys Split Weekend With Storm

Las Vegas, New Mexico- The Cowboys closed out opening weekend and finished the weekend 2-2, splitting the series with Southern Nazarene.

Game 3: Southern Nazerene 21- NMHU 11

The Cowboys tied the game in the first inning, but the Storm would continue to build the lead, including a nine-run 5th inning. Then Coach Jones went to his bench and put in 8 new hitters, including Elvis Park, who went deep for a two-run shot as the Cowboys scored right runs of their own in the 5th inning; however, the deficit was just too much, and the Cowboys fell in game three of the weekend.

Game 4: Southern Nazarene 7- NMHU 8

Game four of the series was a rubber match. The Cowboys were able to scratch two runs across to have a lead. It was a big fourth inning for the Cowboys, which gave them the lead. The Storm battled back in the fourth, but Anthony Reyes came in and got a strikeout looking to end the game and give the Cowboys the win.

Up Next: The Cowboys are back in action next weekend as they head to Alva, Oklahoma, to take on Northwestern Oklahoma State.
