Las Vegas, New Mexico – Cowgirl Volleyball hits the road with a trip to Morrison and Chadron Nebraska.
Year Three: This is the third season for the Cowgirls under the direction of head coach
Meg Grose as the Cowgirls have made significant strides since she has taken the helm.
Last Season: The Cowgirls finished 12-16 last season and 4-10 in conference play while also having a home winning record on the Purple Floor of the Wilson Center.
In her second season leading the program, Grose guided the Cowgirls to a big turnaround in the 2025 campaign, recording the program's most wins since 2013 and securing its first home record above .500 in more than 20 years.
Under her direction, New Mexico Highlands has produced back-to-back all-conference selections.
RMAC Poll: The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) released the 2026 Volleyball Preseason Coaches' Poll. New Mexico Highlands received 52 points, good for a 12th place finish, in the voting by the conference's 15 coaches.

Last Time Out:
The Cowgirls took the lead early, but miscues and errors began to add up tying the first set and the Skyhawks got a run going giving them a lead. The Skyhawks held the lead going into the Media timeout. The Skyhawks began to run away with set one but the Cowgirls said "not so fast my friend" as they battled their way back as all the Skyhawks only needed one point but decided to call a timeout in an attempt to reset and reset they did they getting the point they needed to win set one and take a 1-0 lead in the match.
Phenomenal rallies were the theme of set two by both teams as the two were battling for the points. Despite the good rallies Fort Lewis was able to get runs midway through the set and that was enough cushion to run away with the set and take the victory in set two to make it a 2-0 lead.
The Skyhawks were at the top of their game in set three as the Cowgirls could not seem to find a way to slow them down. The Cowgirls eventually found a way to slow the momentum however the Skyhawks took advantage of a couple of service errors accompanied by some hitting errors by the Cowgirls to take a commanding lead. The Skyhawks were able to complete the victory and the sweep.
Scouting The Opposition
Regis University:
The Rangers will face the Cowgirls on Friday in the first match of October for the two squads as Regis sits at 0-4 in conference play and 1-14 on the season. Joel List is the head coach of the Rangers and is in his ninth season as the head coach and 20
th season overall. List in his nine seasons as the head coach has compiled a boat load of accolades and has also had a monumental career as the Rangers head coach.
Chadron State:
The Chadron State Eagles will be next on the road trip for the Cowgirls. The Eagles sit at 7-7 overall and post a 1-3 conference record. Jeenifer Stadler is entering here eighth season at the helm of the eagles and in which she has coach a multitude of award winners in her time at Chadron State.
