Cowgirls Finish Weekend in Los Lunas

Los Lunas, New Mexico- The Cowgirls Softball faced UTPB and in-state foe Western New Mexico.

Game 1: UTPB 5- NMHU 11

The First game of the day was against the Falcons of Texas Permian Basin for the second time in two days. This time, the Cowgirls would get the upper hand as a big seven-run inning in the second inning propelled them to the victory. Hallie Watkins had a home run today as well, and Jazmyn Griego got her second of the season.

Game 2: Western New Mexico 8 - NMHU 4

The final game of the weekend for the Cowgirls was against in state foe the Mustangs of Western New Mexico. Andrea De La Trinidad had a 2-RBI single for the Cowgirls, which allowed them to get their first runs on the board, but the Mustangs had a big second inning. The Cowgirls started to rally in the 6th inning, but it was just too late Cowgirls dropped the game.

Up Next: The Cowgirls are back in action next weekend as they head to Oklahoma.
