Box Score Lakewood, Colorado-The Cowgirls win in overtime in Lakewood.
1st Half: Colorado Christian (CCU) 31 - NMHU 35Â
A very back-and-forth, high-scoring first quarter by each team ensured this game would be a good one. The two teams were matching eachother shot for shot basket here, basket there, making this one a tight one to end the first quarter.
The second quarter was similar, and the Cowgirls were able to get a lead as large as six before the Cougars came roaring back to tie it up at 31 before the half.
2nd Half: CCUÂ 46- 61- NMHU 51 -61
The second half started off slow for the Cowgirls, who got the scoring going as they outscored CCU on the quarter 20-15, but it was going to take more than that in the fourth if the Cowgirls were going to stay alive in the playoff contention.
Turnovers began to hinder the Cowgirls, as well as the physicality of both teams. The largest score was only seven at the beginning of the game, and the Cowgirls began to get the offensive groove going, but CCU would not go away quietly. A deep three from the Cougars made it a 61-60 game with 55 seconds left. This game was going to come down to the last shot. With 20 seconds left, it was the Cowgirls' ball. After a missed three this game was headed to overtime.
