Cowgirls Set for First Home Match of 2026 Campaign

Las Vegas, New Mexico – The Cowgirls return home for the first time in the 2026 season as they battle the Rattlers of St. Mary's University out of San Antonio, Texas and then make their way to Odessa, Texas to face the University of Texas-Permian Basin Falcons.
 
Year Three: This is the third season for Amanda Evans as the head coach of the Cowgirls soccer program.
 
RMAC Poll: The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference released the 2026 Soccer preseason poll New Mexico Highlands University garnered 13 points in voting conducted by the conference's 13 coaches to finish behind Black Hills State in the poll.
 
2026 Roster: The New Mexico Highlands roster features 12 international players as well as some cowgirls from years past such as, Peyton Greener, Haylee Driscoll, Mia Roybal, Ninon Rigal, Lina Villanueva and Stella Albright. Coach Evans also welcomed 14 new Cowgirls to Historic Las Vegas.
 
New Mexico Highlands played two exhibition matches against Garden City Community College and Otero Junior College.

These two programs face off for the third time ever and just the first time since 2018 with the series tied at one a piece. Kevin Driggs is in his seventh year as the head coach of the Rattlers program and in six years he has made the Lone Star Conference tournament six times as well as 2 NCAA Tournaments. Driggs also has ties to New Mexico Highlands as he graduated with his bachelor's and master's degree from New Mexico Highlands and is a native of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Thursday's game will be played at Robertson High School in Las Vegas
 
University of Texas-Permian Basin Falcons (UTPB):
Following Thursdays home match the Cowgirls will hit the road again as they head to Odessa, Texas to take on the Falcons of University of Texas-Permian Basin. Garrett Kull is in his third season as the head coach of the falcons and tied the third best start in his first season leading the falcons and previous was the head coach at Oklahoma Panhandle State before going to Odessa.
