Jonathan Stavinoha

After spending the 2013 and 2014 seasons as a player for the Cowboys, Jonathan Stavinoha is in his second season in 2015-16 with New Mexico Highlands’ baseball as a Graduate Assistant Coach, working with base running and the infielders. He also serves as the first base coach.
 
Stavinoha joined the baseball program in 2013 as an infielder from Lassen College. In two season with the Cowboys, Stavinoha appeared in 54 games and made 20 starts. He batted .370 (27-for-73) with 20 runs scored and 12 RBI’s. Against West Texas A&M on Feb. 22, 2014, he had four hits in as many at-bats with one run scored and an RBI.
 
In two seasons with the Lassen Cougars, he earned a Second Team All-District honor for the Golden Valley Conference.
 
A native of Columbus, Texas, Satvinoha graduated from Columbus HS in 2009. With the Cardinals, he was an All-District Shortstop in both his junior and senior seasons. He was also named Academic All-District. Stavinoha is the son of Buddy and Trudi and has two siblings, Hannah and Wyatt.
 
Earning his bachelor degree in Health and Physical Science and Physical Education from Highlands, Stavinoha is currently pursuing his master’s degree. He resides in Las Vegas, New Mexico.
