New Mexico Highlands Athletics would like to welcome D.J Peterson.
A native of Minneapolis, Minnesota Peterson traveled to Philadelphia to play basketball for La Salle University under Dr. John Giannini.
"DJ will be a better version of the smart passing, unselfish teammate, good defender and accurate shooter that we have seen in the past. DJ helps his team win by consistently doing the right things possession by possession and moment by moment." - head coach Dr. John Giannini
Peterson graduated with a degree in criminal justice from La Salle University.
Peterson also led Hopkins High School to two straight Class 4A State Championships and a combined 61-2 record during his junior and senior seasons…Earned all-state and all-Metro honors as a senior after averaging 14 points, six rebounds and five assists…McDonald's All-America nominee.
D.J. Peterson will be starting his coaching career as an assistant coach under Craig Snow.
Peterson is excited to be getting this opportunity to learn from Coach Snow and he hopes by joining the coaching staff that he can push the players to improve every day.
