Logan

Jordan Logan

Jordan Logan is beginning her second season with New Mexico Highlands University softball after playing for two seasons at Southeastern Louisiana and one year at West Virginia Tech.

Logan will be working with the outfielders and slap hitters while also assisting with strength and conditioning. Finally, her duties will include running the concession stand for athletic events on campus.

She played for the Lions in 2009 and 2010 before finishing her playing career under current Cowgirls head coach Karin Gadberry at West Virginia Tech.

"Jordan brings with her a wealth of knowledge of the outfield and slapping," Gadberry said. "We are fortunate to have her to be able to work with the slappers after the career she had playing softball in the Southland and Midland Conferences.

"Her enthusiasm and dedication to the game will greatly benefit our program," Gadberry added.

During the 2012 season, Logan was honored by the United State Collegiate Athletic Association as Co-Player of the Week for the week ending April 2. In the eight-game span, Logan went 19-30, boasting a .633 batting average and scoring 17 runs and adding five RBI’s. Logan also nabbed three stolen bases and contributed to four double plays defensively. For the 2012 season with the Golden Bears, Logan played in 45 games and had 67 hits.

At Southeastern Louisiana for the 2009 and 2010 seasons, Logan was named All-Conference Honorable Mention team by the Southland Conference in 2009. She hit leadoff for the Lions, starting 52 games and finishing second on the team in hits (46) and third in batting average (.264).

In 2010, Logan led the team and finished 11th in the SLC in hits (50), finishing with a .303 batting average.

Academically, Logan was named to the President’s List and Honor Roll from 2008-2011 while attending Southeastern Louisiana. She graduated in 2012 from West Virginia Tech with a bachelor’s degree in Regents of the Arts with an emphasis in Cultural Studies. She is currently a 4.0 student in graduate school at New Mexico Highlands.

A California native, Logan is the daughter of Stacia Logan and has three sisters, Cameron, Brittany and Mackenzie.
