LAS VEGAS, N.M.- The Las Vegas, New Mexico area Subway® restaurants and Manger Regina Denardo is pleased to announce that Michelle Brincefield of the Cowgirl softball team has been named the Subway Eat Fresh Student-Athlete of the Week.

Micelle had a great week as she went 3-0 with a win over Eastern New Mexico and two against UCCS. For the week she allowed three earned runs to give her a 1.05 ERA. She struck out 18 batters and walked 11 in 20 innings. In the series finale against UCCS Michelle pitched a one hit complete game shutout.  

In its second year, the Subway® Student-Athlete of the Week will be chosen every week for the athletic year. Every student-athlete chosen for the weekly award will be eligible to win the Subway Eat Fresh® Student-Athlete of the Year award following the 2015-2016 academic year. While the weekly award will be based on athletic prowess, the yearly award will be bestowed upon an athlete based on success not only on the playing field, but also in the classroom and community involvement.
