The Cowgirl Soccer team tried to keep their record in the positive as they took on the Antelopes of Grand Canyon University. The Cowgirls weren't able to do so as the Antelopes ran away with the win with a final score of 4-0.
Splitting time in the net for the Cowgirls were
Amanda Rose Johnson and
Shannon Delarosbil. Johnson had two goals allowed with two saves as Delarosbil had two goals allowed and six saves.
The Cowgirls were outshot by the Antelopes, 19 to 11, in the match up. Only four of the 11 shots by the Cowgirls were off target, as the Antelopes had seven of their 19 shots attempted off target.
The Antelopes were able to score off of come Cowgirl errors, as one goal came from a header off a corner kick and another rolled in the goal as it came off the keeper.
The Cowgirls are now 1-1 on the season and look to improve on that record as they play their first game at Perkins Stadium. They will play host to the Eastern New Mexico Zias on 9/10 with kickoff at 5pm.Come out to support your Cowgirls!
