The NMHU Cowboys fell to the Mavericks of Mesa State College on 2/11 by a final score of 83-75. The
Cowboys would battle early with the Mavericks throughout the first half as the teams would trade the lead many times with the Mavericks leading 35-30 at the half. The Mavericks would retain the lead throughout the second half en route to the win. With the loss, the Cowboys fall to 16-6 on the season and 12-6 in RMAC play.
Three Cowboys would finish the night in double figures.
Chris Newsome would lead the Cowboys in scoring as he had 22 points on the night. Newsome would add in one rebound and one steal to his night's totals.
Mindaugas Markevicius would finish with 16 points, four rebounds and one steal.
Thomas Manzano would round out the top three scorers with 14 points, six rebounds and one assist.
The Cowboys will look for redemption when they take the court again on 2/12 as they host the Mountaineers of Western State College in their final regular season home game.
