Box Score The NMHU Cowboys road struggles continued on 2/10 as the Pokes fell to the Mavericks of Colorado Mesa University 78-60 in Grand Junction, Colo. The Cowboys would start out on a 4-0 run from the tip-off, but after that it would be all Mavericks as the home team went on a 19-0 run of their own. The Mavericks would lead by as much as 21 points in the first half. At the halftime break, CMU led 45-24. The second half would be more of the same as the Mavericks would lead by as much as 31 points in the second half en route to a 78-60 win over the Cowboys. With the loss, the Cowboys are now 10-12 on the season and 8-10 in RMAC play.
As a team the Cowboys finished the night shooting 32% from the field and would continue to struggle from the free throw line finishing shooting 55% from the charity stripe. Defensively the Cowboys pulled down 19 defensive rebounds, blocked one shot and stole the ball from CMU eight times.
Aaryon Williams would finish the night leading the Cowboys in scoring with 24 points. Williams added in six rebounds to his nights totals.
Momcilo Latinovic finished second in scoring for the Pokes with nine points. Latinovic would add five rebounds and three steals.
Billy Austin rounds out the top three NMHU performers with eight points, three rebounds, two assists and two steals.
The Cowboys will look to end their road losing streak as the travel to Gunnison, Colo. to take on the Mountaineers of Western State College on 2/11.
