Roadrunners Stop Cowgirls, 3-0

Box Score Las Vegas, N.M. – The Cowgirls lost in three sets against Metropolitan State University of Denver in tonight's game (Oct. 11), at the John A. Wilson Complex.  The Cowgirls, led by Head Coach Bryan Crawford, fall to 1-7 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference and 7-10 in overall play.

In the beginning of the first set, things were looking good for the Cowgirls until Metro started to pull away, but your Cowgirls did not give in they battled back (15-15). Through the last of the first set the Cowgirls and Roadrunners went back and forth but the Cowgirls just could not close the set and the Roadrunners took the first set (25-20).
The Roadrunners came into the second set and took the lead right away (11-4), but the Cowgirls kept their heads high and battled to get the set closer, rallying to 16-12. After a great back and forth battle the Roadrunners started to rally back and closed out the second set (25-18).

The third set was looking good for the Cowgirls in the beginning but the Roadrunners just finished the match for the night (25-17) to end the game.

The two top performers for the Cowgirls were Darian Mullen with 14 kills and Jessica Piper with 12 digs

The Cowgirls will continue conference action on Saturday, Oct. 12, against, the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, in Las Vegas, N.M. The Mountain Lions come into the John A. Wilson Complex with a 3-4 conference record and 7-8 in overall play. Colorado Springs is currently sitting in tenth place in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.  If you can't make it out to the gym to catch your Cowgirls in action, you can watch the match on the America One Network.
