Box Score Lakewood, Colo. - The NMHU Cowgirls lost a close one on the road in tonight's (Oct. 25) match against the Colorado Christian University Cougars. The Cowgirls, led by Head Coach
Bryan Crawford, fall to 4-8 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference and 10-11 in overall play.

In the first set the Cowgirls looked good and took it from the Cougars (25-22), but going into the second set the Cowgirls did not start off good and ended up letting the Cougars win (25-13).
After a break, your Cowgirls come out strong and stormed through Christian in the third set (25-14). Going into the fourth set, the Cougars answered back and started off with a huge lead (11-1). The Cowgirls just could not dig themselves out and lost the fourth set (25-14).
The final set was a tight one. The Cougars took the lead at first (8-5), but then your Cowgirls rallied and had some good hits, taking the lead (15-14) towards the end. At the end, the Cougars had two great blocks by Kaylee Pierce and Bri Ridley and took tonight's match (17-15).
Tonight's top performer was
Darian Mullen with 27 kills.
The Cowgirls will continue conference action on Friday, Oct. 26, against #18 Colorado School of Mines, in Golden Colo. Mines is 11-2 in the conference and 17-4 overall play.
