Cowgirls Come Out on Top Against Thunder Wolves

Box Score Las Vegas, N.M.  - The NMHU Cowgirls won a close one in tonight's match (Oct. 29) against the Colorado State University- Pueblo ThunderWolves.  The Cowgirls, led by Head Coach Bryan Crawford, move up to 5-9 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference and 11-12 in overall play.

NMHU 3 – CSUP 1

In the first set, the Cowgirls started strong and got a lead (7-4) , but there were some errors that helped the ThunderWolves come back and take the lead ( 10-7). That did not scare your Cowgirls though and they battled to take the first set from the ThunderWolves (26-24).

Second set was the ThunderWolves all the way. Pueblo had the lead the whole set and took it (25-20).

After the break, the Cowgirls came out strong and got a lead (6-0), but because of some hitting errors the ThunderWolves were back in it. Towards the end, the ThunderWolves made some huge errors and a great kill by Jazmine Harge to end the third set (28-26).

The last set was a battle between these two volleyball teams. Kill after kill and error after error, but your Cowgirls pulled out on top and got a big lead to wrap up tonight's match (25-15).

Tonight's top performers' were Darian Mullen with 16 kills and Alicia Moreno with 15 kills

The Cowgirls will continue conference action on Saturday, Nov. 2, against in-state rivals Western New Mexico University in Silver City, N.M.  Last time these two teams played was in the John A. Wilson Complex and the Mustangs took the match (3-0).  If you can't make it out to Silver City you can to catch your Cowgirls in action, you can watch the match on the America One Network.
