Box Score Las Vegas, N.M. - The NMHU Cowgirl Volleyball team lost 3-0 in the John A. Wilson Complex tonight, Oct. 4, against in-state rival Western New Mexico University. The Cowgirls, led by Head Coach
Bryan Crawford, fall to 1-5 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference and 7-8 in overall play.
The Cowgirls were up in the first set (7-4) then the Mustangs came back to win (21-25).
The Cowgirls kept fighting through the second set but could not catch the Mustangs. Towards the end of the set, the Cowgirls picked up some points, but the Mustangs closed out the set (21-25).
Going into the third set, the Cowgirls started a little rocky but came back to get a led (7-6). WNMU recovered and gained control of the match (19-25).
The Cowgirls' top performer of the night was
Marina Samoa with 11 kills and 15 digs.
The Cowgirls will continue conference action on Thursday, Oct. 10, against Regis University, in Las Vegas, N.M. The Rangers come into the John A. Wilson Complex with a 3-1 conference record and 7-6 overall play. Regis is currently sitting in sixth place in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
