Box Score Alamosa, Colo. - The Cowgirls suffered their third lost in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference to Adams State University. They lost in five sets (18-25, 25-22 ,25-19, 14-25, 12-15). The Cowgirls, lead by Head Coach
Bryan Crawford, are now 7-6 overall and 1-3 in the RMAC.
Adams State 3 - NMHU 2
First Set (18-25)
Adams State University took an early lead in the beginning of the set, 3-0. The Cowgirls would respond very quickly and go on a four-point run, taking a 4-3 lead. Unfortunately, the Cowgirls couldn't control their lead. Adam State University would go on a momentum run and took the lead 11-7. The Cowgirls didn't have an anwser for the Grizzlies of Adams State University for the rest of the set.
Second Set (25-22)
The Cowgirls were down again early in the set 5-1, but they would tie the set up at 6-6. They continued to battle throughout the second set by taking control of the lead and finished strong to win the set. Offensively, they had a total of 11 kills and they had three service aces.
Third Set (25-19)
At the start of the set, it was another tie between the two teams at 3-3. The Cowgirls responded taking the lead at 10-5. They were in charge and took control of the pace. They would conclude by winning the set.
Fourth Set (14-25)
The Cowgirls couldn't keep their momentum from the previous two sets. The set started with another intense battle between the two teams and saw them tied at 6-6. The Grizziles would prevail and take control of the set by going on 10-point run, 20-10. The Cowgirls couldn't answer the offensive attack by the Grizzlies, losing the set 14-25.
Fifth Set (12-15)
The Grizzlies continued the momentum from the previous set and took command of the moment, taking the final set and the match.
Jazmine Harge played very well for the Cowgirls. She had a total of 12 kills, three block assists and her hitting average was a very impressive .526. Harge accumalated a total of 13.5 points for the match.
Sina Mauga also played well for the Cowgirls. She finished with a total of 14 points. Mauga had three service aces, eight kills, two digs, and six blocks.
