Rough Night for Cowgirls

New Mexico Highlands University women's soccer team moved to (1-3-0) on the season after a 0-1 shutout from Eastern New Mexico University.

Morgan Fairbanks scored with 19:11 into the first half with an assist from Samantha Silvestre, giving the Greyhounds the final 1-0 lead. 

The Cowgirls had many opportunities but were not able to take advantage of any of them. The Cowgirls had only 6 shots on the day, a new season low, but 3 were on goal and 2 of those hit off the bar. 

The Cowgirls had a strong defense with 4 saves. It was a tight game and the girls played hard.

Coach Oscar Mendoza and squad will return to action on Friday at 4 p.m. against Adams State, to kick off the conference season. Live stats and video will be available.
