Box Score It was a big day for NMHU football on Saturday-- Senior Day and the unveiling of the new Leveo and Patricia Sanchez Family field at Perkins Stadium--but the Fort Lewis Skyhawks turned three second half turnovers into points to rally past the Cowboys 30-20 in  Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference action. The Cowboys are now 2-8-0 in their first season under coach

The game began as a defensive struggle with an FLC field goal the only score of the first quarter. After being forced to punt on their first four drives, the Cowboys took the lead with a six play, 80 yard march capped off by 3-yard Dione Alston dash into the endzone. The 'Pokes would take a 7-3 edge into the halftime locker room.
A Fort Lewis field goal on the Skyhawks first drive of the second half cut the lead to 7-6Â On the Cowboys next
possession, HU quarterback Danny Cameron was intercepted and the Skyhawk defender took the ball 25 yards into the endzone for a 13-7 lead.

The Cowboys regained the lead with 2:08 left in the third quarter, 14-13 when Cameron hit DJ McFadden for a 29-yard TD.Â
Turnovers early in the final quarter told the tale of the final outcome.On the Cowboys first play of the fourth quarter, another interception gave FLC a short field and the visitors took the lead 20-14 on a three play 17-yard drive. On just the second HU offensive play of the quarter a forced fumble and recovery by the Skyhawks led to a touchdown and a 27-14 lead.
The Cowboys got a late score on a 10-yard pass from Cameron to Dominique Bierria to cut into the FLC lead for the 30-20 final score.
HU's Eli Schoettmer had a big game on the defensive side of the ball. The Cowboy junior transfer from Indiana State had five solo tackles and seven assists to lead the team while teammate
Jimmy Threat was in on 11 tackles for the game.
