NMHU Athletics Names Jace Hinton Sports Information Coordinator

Las Vegas, New Mexico - New Mexico Highlands University Athletics announced today the hiring of Jace Hinton as Sports Information Coordinator.

Hinton recently graduated from New Mexico Highlands University with a bachelor's degree in Business and brings four years of experience in the department's communications office, including three years as Sports Information Director Student Assistant.

A native of Fruita, Colorado, Hinton has strong ties to the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) and a passion for New Mexico Highlands University.

"Growing up with Colorado Mesa right there in my backyard, I became very familiar with the RMAC," Hinton said. "I remember when Colorado Mesa was Mesa State. My mom also competed in RMAC softball at UCCS. My reason to come here was originally to play baseball in this conference, and now I have the opportunity to further my career in this conference."

Hinton expressed enthusiasm about returning to NMHU in this new capacity.

"When former Athletic Director Scott Noble told me he wanted me to come back here, it was a no-brainer for me. This university is where I got my degree and met incredible people. I love this institution and everything it has done for me."

In his new role, Hinton will oversee media relations, statistical services, website content, photography, videography, social media, public address, and live event coverage for New Mexico Highlands Athletics.

"My goal is to make the fan experience and student-athlete experience at New Mexico Highlands the best I can - whether through article writing, videography, photography, public address, or broadcasting. Whatever it takes to make the experience great for all Cowboys and Cowgirls."

"I am thrilled to welcome Jace to his new role at New Mexico Highlands," said Mike Grose, Assistant Director of Athletics for Communications. "He produced outstanding work throughout his four years as a student assistant and consistently demonstrated a strong work ethic, creativity, and professionalism. I look forward to watching him continue to grow as a communications professional."

Beyond his role at NMHU, Hinton operates JMH Media, a multimedia production company. His writing has earned recognition, including as a runner-up in the 2026 Fred Stabley Writing Contest for a historical piece. He also serves as the Public Address announcer for Robertson High School athletic events. Hinton also co-hosts a show on 92.7 The Bull in Las Vegas. During the summer months, he works with the NJCAA Division I World Series in baseball.

Hinton begins his new role on July 1st.
