New Mexico Highlands Announces Athletics Leadership Transition

Las Vegas, New Mexico - New Mexico Highlands University announced today that Director of Athletics Scott Noble has resigned his position to relocate to his home state of Kansas to be closer to family. Mike Grose has been named Interim Director of Athletics, effective immediately.

During Noble's tenure, New Mexico Highlands Athletics made significant strides both competitively and academically. The department recorded a dramatic improvement in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference All-Sports Cup standings while student-athletes achieved an across the board improvement in cumulative grade point average.

"While leadership may change, our commitment to our student-athletes and the values that define our university remains constant," said NMHU Interim President Dr. Kimberly Blea. "We look forward to this next chapter with optimism, knowing that together we will continue to build a strong future for New Mexico Highlands athletics."

Grose has served as Assistant Director of Athletics for Communications since August 2023 and has been a member of the department's senior leadership team. In his current role, he oversees athletics communications, media relations, branding, and the department's digital platforms.

A national search for the university's next Director of Athletics is underway.

Additional information regarding the search process will be announced as it becomes available.
