THE COWGIRLS HEADING INTO THE WEEKEND | SEASON STATS

The Cowgirls went 0-1-1 last week in a pair of home games - picking up a 1-1 draw against Colorado Mesa on Friday night and a 3-1 loss to Western State on Sunday. In Friday's tie, the Cowgirls fell behind 1-0 in the 61st minute, but scored the equalizer in the 79th minute when a loose ball in front of the goal on a corner kick was booted in by Janis Martinez for her first goal of the season. In Sunday's loss, a pair of penalties in the box led to two penalty kick goals for Western State as the Cowgirls as NMHU fell behind 3-0 before Alondra Gildo-Ceballos scored on a penalty kick in the 73rd minute to make the final 3-1. NMHU outshot WSCU 22-13 in the contest, including 9-7 in shots on goal.

On the season, Johns leads the team with seven goals to go along with three assists. Kelsey Cook has five goals on the year while Ambree Bennett has four. Kilee Lamb-Allsop leads the Trailblazers in assists with four.
