LAS VEGAS, N.M. --- The New Mexico Highlands men's basketball team puts its seven-game win streak - the longest since the 2009-10 season - on the line as the Cowboys travel to take on Dixie State and Westminster this upcoming weekend.

The Cowboys extended their win streak thanks to beating Fort Lewis for the first time since 2012 on Friday with a dominant 104-69 victory and followed that up with a 100-95 win over Adams State - a game that saw NMHU shoot better than 70 percent from the field in the second half.
The Cowboys earned their first weekly honor of the season as
Gerad Davis earned the RMAC Defensive Player of the Week after picking up an RMAC high seven steals against Fort Lewis on Friday and took three charges on Saturday against Adams State. On the season, Davis is averaging 21.6 points (3rd in RMAC), 5.8 rebounds (19th), 2.3 assists and 2.1 steals (3rd). He's shooting 55.6 percent from the field (8th), 53.3 percent from 3-point range (3rd) and hasn't missed a free throw in 25 tries.
Three other players are averaging double figures for the Cowboys as
Raquan Mitchell is at 16.5 points per game (9th in the RMAC) to go along with a team-best 3.6 assists (7th), 4.8 rebounds, 1.6 steals (9th) and is shooting 41.4 percent from 3-point range (24-for-58),
Jordan Jones is averaging 14.5 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.6 steals (9th) and
Nnamdi Okoro is averaging 11.5 points to go along with a team-best 7.9 rebounds (3rd), 1.6 blocks (2nd) and is shooting 68.9 percent from the field (3rd).
As a team, the Cowboys rank in the top 25 in scoring (92.3 - 8th), turnover margin (plus-5.9 - 9th), steals per game (9.5 - 24th) and 3-pointers per game (10.9 - 25th) - and ranks first in the RMAC in all those categories except steals per game (UCCS is averaging 9.8 per game).
ABOUT DIXIE STATE | SEASON STATS
The Trailblazers split their weekend RMAC road trip to South Dakota last weekend, beating South Dakota Mines 71-65 on Friday and falling to Black Hills State 91-70 on Saturday to drop to 1-2 in RMAC play.
Dixie State is averaging 71.3 points per game, which is 10th in the RMAC, while allowing 72.3 points per game (eighth in the RMAC). The Trailblazers are third in the RMAC in field goal percentage defense at 42.5 percent, but are allowing teams to shoot 39.1 percent from 3-point range (14th in the RMAC).
Six-foot-7 Matt Conway leads the team in scoring (16.8 - 6th in the RMAC), rebounding (6.3) and blocks (1.0) and is the only regular averaging double figures in points. Dub Price is second on the team in scoring at 9.8 points per game while also averaging 5.0 rebounds, 1.5 steals and 2.2 assists per game.
ABOUT WESTMINSTER | SEASON STATS
The Griffins dropped both games on the road in South Dakota last week, falling to Black Hills State 88-55 on Friday and to South Dakota Mines 55-52 on Saturday. In the loss at South Dakota Mines, Westminster led 50-49 with 2:49 left in the game and that lead held until South Dakota Mines hit a shot with 34 seconds left to regain the lead - a lead it wouldn't relinquish after going 4-for-4 from the free throw line in the final eight seconds.
Brandon Warr (6-5, sophomore) leads the Griffins in scoring at 12.1 points per game while also averaging 9.1 rebounds and shooting 45.8 percent from 3-point range (11-for-24). Jake Connor (6-4, senior) is averaging 11.1 points and Jai Jai Ely (6-2, junior) is averaging 9.6 points and 5.0 rebounds.
The Griffins are seventh in the RMAC in scoring defense, allowing 71.9 points per game, but are 15th in scoring at 66 points per contest. Westminster is also sixth in the RMAC in rebounding margin at plus-3.3.
