DENVER --- The New Mexico Highlands women's soccer team opened RMAC play with 4-0 loss at 11
th-ranked Metropolitan State University Denver on Friday night at the Regency Athletic Complex.

The Cowgirls (0-4 overall, 0-1) allowed two Roadrunner (3-1-1, 1-0) goals in the first half and another two in the second half.

MSU Denver got on the board in the 12
th minute and again late in the half in the 38
th minute – both goals from Reigna Banks (her sixth and seventh goals of the season). The Roadrunners scored again on a goal from Paloma Teran early in the second half (51
st minute) and closed out their scoring late in the game (82
nd minute) on a Gabriella Gamboa goal.

The Cowgirls were outshot 14-5 overall and 9-1 on shots on goal.
Alondra Gildo-Ceballos led NMHU with two shots while
Nitza Rodriguez got NMHU's shot on goal (in the second half).
Briana Ruelas played all 90 minutes at keeper for the Cowgirls and collected five saves.

NMHU returns to action 2:30 p.m. Sunday when they play at UC Colorado Springs.
