ALAMOSA, Colo. --- The New Mexico Highlands volleyball team for the second-straight night played a five-setter, but this time at Adams State the Cowgirls came out on top as they won 3-2 (19-25, 26-24, 25-23, 24-26, 18-16) Saturday at Plachy Hall Gym.
Cynthia Norris led the way for the Cowgirls with 21 kills and added six blocks while
Tiffany Matchett had 20 kills, 17 digs and two blocks,
Camryn Nelson had eight kills and 12 digs,
Taley Ferrari had six kills and eight blocks,
Elena Rivera had a team-high 24 digs and
Soleil Gandara had 44 assists.
The victory moves the Cowgirls, who lost at Fort Lewis in five on Friday night, to 6-11 overall and 4-5 in RMAC play while the Grizzlies drop to 6-10 overall and 3-5 in the RMAC.
NMHU returns home next weekend as they take on Colorado School of Mines 7 p.m. Friday and UC Colorado Springs 6 p.m. Saturday at Wilson Complex.
