LAS VEGAS, N.M. ---Ā The New Mexico Highlands men's basketball team looks to keep its momentum rolling as the Cowboys - in second place in the RMAC - travel to take on Chadron State on Friday and MSU Denver on Saturday.
THE COWBOYS COMING INTO THIS WEEK | SEASON STATS
The Cowboys - ranked seventh in the latest D2SIDAĀ South Central Regional Poll -Ā got a pair of key wins last weekend at home, beating Colorado Mesa (ranked eighth at the time in the regional poll) 94-82 and Western Colorado 94-83.
NMHU was led by USBWA Division II National Player of the week as well as RMAC Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week
Raquan Mitchell after the junior averaged 35 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.5 steals, 2.0 assists, 1.0 blocks and 7.5 3-pointers per game. Mitchell increased his scoring average to 20.7 points per game (second in the RMAC) and leads the RMAC and ranks in the top five in the nation in 3-pointers made per game (3.87 - third in the NCAA) and 3-pointers made overall (58 - fifth in the NCAA). He's shooting 42.3 percent from 3-point range while also averaging 4.5 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.7 steals.
Gerad Davis is also averaging 20.7 points per game for the Cowboys while
Jordan Jones is at 14.1 and
Nnamdi OkoroĀ is at 10.2 (he leads the team in rebounding at 8.5 per game as well as blocksĀ with 1.5 per contest).
As a team, the Cowboys lead the RMAC and are in the top 10 in the nation in scoring (89.7 points per game - 10thĀ in the NCAA) and turnover margin (+6.5 - fourth in the NCAA). The Cowboys are also first in the conference in turnovers forced per game (17.9) and second in turnovers committed per game (11.4) while also leading the RMAC in 3-pointers made per game (11.1 - 19th in the NCAA).

The Eagles split a pair of games in Utah last weekend, losing at Westminster (93-86) on Friday before beating Dixie State on the road 64-61 on Saturday.
Chadron State has a trio of players averaging 12-plus points per game in Colby Jackson (12.7), Diontae Champion (12.3) and Michael Sparks (12.1).Ā Sparks is the team's top 3-point shooter hitting a team-best 34 3s at a 39.1 percent clip.
The Eagles are 10th in the conference in scoring at 72.8 points per game while allowing 74.1 per game - seventh in the RMAC.

The Roadrunners dropped both games last weekend, falling at Dixie State 69-38 on Friday and at Westminster 74-69 on Saturday.
Druce AsahĀ leads the team in scoring at 16.2 points per game followed by Garrett Carter (12.3) and Kendall McIntosh (11.4). AsahĀ leads the team with 41 3-pointers while shooting 38.3 percent from beyond the arc.
The Roadrunners are 14th in the conference at 70.6 points per game while allowing 73.1 points per game (which is sixth in the RMAC.
