LAKEWOOD, Colo. --- The New Mexico Highlands softball team dropped both games Friday at Lakewood Park, falling to No. 11 Colorado Mesa 8-0 and Colorado Christian 13-1.

Against the Mavericks (40-7 overall, 33-4 RMAC), the Cowgirls (8-29, 7-23) fell behind 3-0 after the first inning, 5-0 after three and 6-0 after four before CMU scored two runs in the seventh to make the final 8-0.

Angelina Guthro went 2-for-3 while
Brooklynn DeLozier went 2-for-4 with a double to account for four of NMHU's six hits in the contest.
Belinda Gonzalez went the distance in the circle, giving up eight runs (six earned) on 10 hits with three strikeouts and four walks.

In the loss to Colorado Christian (34-13, 27-7), a seven-run fourth inning led the way for the Cougars during a run-rule win over NMHU 13-1. Guthro again had two hits, going 2-for-2 while NMHU's lone run scored on a CCU error.
Megan Jesionowski got the loss, going three innings and giving up nine runs (eight earned) on eight hits with two strikeouts and four walks.

NMHU closes its season Saturday by taking on CCU at 11 a.m. and CMU at 1 p.m. – again at Lakewood Park.
