LAS VEGAS, N.M. --- The New Mexico Highlands athletic department is excited to announced an updated logo as the Cowboy and Cowgirl teams gets set for the 2019-20 season.

The upgrade in the logo looks similar to the bucking horse and cowboy used the previous two decades, but has been modernized. The logo was created and edited by Fatcat Studios out of Baltimore, Maryland (
fatcat-studios.com). Options were presented to the NMHU Board of Regents, the NMHU "H" Club, the NMHU administration and the NMHU athletic department before being narrowed down to this concept and being fine tuned into the final product.
"We are thrilled to have an upgraded logo as we continue to move forward in our rebranding at New Mexico Highlands," said
Clayton Jones, NMHU Assistant Athletic Director for Communications/External Relations. "I can't thank all those at NMHU and Fatcat Studios enough as we went through this process. The importance of this logo upgrade wasn't taken lightly. We wanted to keep the tradition of the past while giving us a great look going into the future."

Along with the upgraded logo, the NMHU athletic department has officially made the NMHU "H" logo its secondary logo to create branding cohesion with main campus.
