Men's Basketball Looks to Stay Alive in RMAC Tourney Race

Las Vegas, NM – The New Mexico Highlands men's basketball team looks to keep their playoff hopes alive as they take on MSU-Denver on Friday night and Chadron State on Saturday night.
 
ABOUT MSU-DENVER: The Roadrunners are averaging 65.6 points per game while shooting 39.7% from the field and 31.4% from three while averaging 36 rebounds and 9.4 assists per game. Druce Asah leads the way with 12.2 points and 3.3 rebounds per game and Garrett Carter is right behind at 9.3 points and 3.1 rebounds. Mitchell Lombard (9.2 points, 3 rebounds) and Maris Colton (8.2 points, 5 rebounds) will also look to aid the Roadrunners this weekend.
 
ABOUT CHADRON STATE: The Eagles come in to the weekend averaging 73.3 points per game while shooting 43% from the field and 35.9% from the three while also grabbing 34.2 rebounds and 13.5 assists per game. Brian Rodriguez Flores will look to lead the Eagles as he averages 16.3 points and 6.1 rebounds per game. You can also expect Jacob Jefferson (10.9 points, 4 rebounds), Colby Jackson (10.5 points, 2.8 rebounds), and Michael Sparks (9.5 points) for the Eagles this weekend.
 
ABOUT THE COWBOYS: The Cowboys are looking to keep their tournament hopes alive as they sit in the 8th spot (1 game behind UCCS and 1 game ahead of Regis). The Cowboys lead the conference in scoring at 90.4 per contest while shooting 46.6% from the field and 37.4% from three point territory while also grabbing 34.5 rebounds and dishing out 11.7 assists per game. Sammy Barnes-Thompkins leads the conference at 24.5 points per game while also grabbing 3.3 rebounds while Raquan Mitchell is right behind him in second place averaging 24.2 points and grabbing 4.5 rebounds per game. You can also look for Desmond Carpenter (8 points 4.3 rebounds), Darius Harrison (7.6 points, 4.6 rebounds), and DJ Bustos (6.9 points, 2 rebounds) for the Cowboys.
