Las Vegas, NM --- The New Mexico Highlands baseball team lost the first game of a four game series against Colorado School of Mines on Friday afternoon.

The Orediggers started the game hot as they were able to take a 1-0 lead after the first inning.

The Orediggers would extend their lead to 8 runs before the Cowboys were able to score 3 in the bottom of the 6
th.

Estevan De La O started the inning off with a single to left field while
Kalen Hammer reached on a walk.
Ashton Roy would step in with a single through the right side as De La O would come around to score.
Jesus Chavez would step in and bring in another run for the Cowboys with a single before
Fabian Ferreira would bring in
Ashton Roy for the Cowboys final run of the game.

The Orediggers would go on to win 11-3 while NMHU
Brandon Baier gets credit for his first loss of the season. Baier faced 28 batters as he gave up 10 hits, 8 runs, and 3 strikeouts.
Cameron Polich (2 IP, 1 hit, 2 runs, 3 strikeouts) and
John Slape (2 IP, 2 hits, 1 run, 2 strikeouts) would also make an appearance for the Cowboys.
