LAS VEGAS, N.M. --- The New Mexico Highlands women's soccer team looks to build off of its first win of the season as the Cowgirls travel to take on MSU Denver 7 p.m. Friday at Assembly Athletic Complex in Denver before heading north to take on Black Hills State 11 a.m Sunday.

COWGIRLS HEADING INTO THIS WEEK | 2021 SEASON STATS
NMHU used first-half goals from Desire Hermosillo and Valeria Baca and held off Western Colorado 2-1 Friday in the Cowgirls' first win of the season. The Cowgirls dominated play, outshooting Western 24-9 - including 16-6 on shots on goal. Karina Vega picked up five saves at goalkeeper and allowed just the one goal.

Baca's goal was her third of the season to lead the team while Hermosillo, Monique Nevarez and Nitza Rodriguez each have one. Bryana Garcia and Kiarra Hovis each have an assist apiece to lead the team. At keeper, Vega has played all 630 minutes for the Cowgirls and has a 4.29 GAA and a 0.559 save percentage with 38 saves (her 5.43 saves per game is fourth in the RMAC).

MSU DENVER HEADING INTO THE WEEK | 2021 SEASON STATS
The Roadrunners enter Friday on a three-match losing streak after starting the season 5-1-2 - falling at Colorado School of Mines 1-0 on Oct. 3, at No. 12 UCCS 2-0 last Thursday and at CSU Pueblo 2-1 on Sunday.

Katy Coats and Elisa Dean lead MSU Denver with three goals apiece with each adding one assist. Four other players have two goals apiece while Annie Rolf leads the team and is fourth in the RMAC with four assists. Kayla Caballero has seen all but 92 minutes in goal for the Roadrunners with a 0.96 GAA (third in the RMAC) and a 0.714 save percentage with 25 saves.

BLACK HILLS STATE HEADING INTO THE WEEK | 2021 SEASON STATS
The Yellow Jackets dropped their fifth contest in a row Sunday - falling at No. 12 UCCS 5-0. Two days prior, BHSU fell at CSU Pueblo, 3-1.

Emma Avery has paced the Yellow Jackets this season in scoring with four goals while three other players have one goal apiece. Haley Hesselgesser has a team-high two assists. Makayla Dannelly has played the majority of time in goal for BHSU and has a 2.21 GAA with a 0.750 save percentage.
