SPEARFISH, S.D. --- The New Mexico Highlands volleyball team lost to Black Hills State 3-1 (25-18, 27-25, 18-25, 25-20) Saturday at the Donald E. Young Sports & Fitness Center.
It looked like the Cowgirls may take the second set and even the match up as it led 25-24 and had set point before BHSU scored the final three points to take the set.
NMHU took the third set handily, 25-18, but couldn't bounce back to even it up and lost in four.
Terayah Stukes led the Cowgirls with 14 kills while
Keegan Lopez added12.
Samantha Sjogren had a team-best 20 assists while
Soleil Gandara added 18. Angellina Oliver led with five blocks while
Elena Rivera had a team-best 15 digs.
NMHU returns to action 3 p.m. Sunday as it takes on South Dakota Mines.
