LAS VEGAS, N.M. --- For the first time in 10 years, the New Mexico Highlands volleyball team will experience conference postseason play after the Cowgirls swept Fort Lewis 3-0 (25-18, 25-8, 25-20) on Senior Day Saturday at Wilson Complex.
NMHU at 7-11 in RMAC play will take on top-ranked and top-seeded MSU Denver on Tuesday (time is TBA). The Cowgirls finished tied with Adams State for the final playoff spot, but won the head-to-head tiebreaker to qualify for the tournament for the first time since 2011.
In Saturday's sweep,
Stacy Johnson led the way with nine kills while
Terayah Stukes had eight and Angellina Oliver finished with six.
Soleil Gandara had a team-best 28 assists while meranda Romero had 15 digs,
Elena Rivera added 12 and
Samantha Sjogren had 11.
Lisi Langi and Oliver had a team-best four.
