Las Vegas, NM --- MSU Denver comes back from three runs down to beat the New Mexico Highlands softball team in game three 6-4 and finish the sweep on Saturday afternoon at the HU Softball Field.

Lead-off
Camrynn Ziegler (Jr: El Paso, TX) reached on an error by MSU Denver second baseman Ari Valdez in the bottom of the first inning before
Savannah Pineda Chavez (Fr; Montebello, CA) moved her to second with a sacrifice bunt. A
Megan Gutierrez (Fr; Whitier, CA) walk set up
Carlee Gonzalez (Fr; Rocklin, CA) to double to center field to give the Cowgirls a 1-0 lead. A two-out, 2 RBI single from freshman
Samantha Gamboa (Albuquerque, NM) to right-center gave the Cowgirls an early 3-0 advantage.

Three straight walks from Gamboa in the top of the third inning, followed by two hits set up the Roadrunners to score four in the inning, to take their first lead of the day at 4-3.

MSU Denver added two runs in the fifth and sixth innings as the Cowgirls went into their final at-bat down 3-6.

Again, Ziegler continues to show her poise in the batter's box as she knocked a single to right field. Chavez registered her third hit of the game to put two runners on base for the Cowgirls as
Carlee Gonzalez would load the bases with a hard hit shot to third base. With two outs and the winning run on base, MSU Denver reliever Destinee Lopez struck out Gamboa swinging to give the Roadrunners a 6-4 win in game three.

Chavez led the Cowgirls with three hits while
Samantha Gamboa finished with a team high 2 RBI. Gamboa also received her first collegiate start in the circle giving up five runs off two hits and striking out two Roadrunners.

Both teams scored a run in the first and second innings of game four before MSU Denver scored two runs to take a 4-2 lead after three innings of play. The Cowgirls answered with a run in the fourth inning after capitalizing off a fielding error by MSU Denver shortstop Haley Doughty.
