Colorado Springs, CO --- The New Mexico Highlands baseball team fell to UCCS 13-9 in game four of the RMAC pod weekend in Colorado Springs, CO.

The Cowboys (6-14, 4-12 RMAC) scored an early four runs in the top of the fourth inning with a pair of home run from
Gaylan Young and
Jared Brown. The Mountain Lions put together two runs in the bottom half of the fourth before the Cowboys scored a run in the fifth and sixth inning to take a 6-2 advantage.

The Mountain Lions exploded for nine runs in the bottom of the sixth inning and added to more runs by the end of the eighth inning to take a 13-6 lead over the Cowboys.

Young would hit his second homerun of the game, and sixth of the year, to score three runs for the Cowboys as the Mountain Lions would hold on for a 13-9 win.

Jared Brown led the team with three hits, two RBI and a run scored while
Gaylan Young went 2 for 3 with two home runs and four RBI.

Brady Salyards turns to 1-3 on the season after giving up seven runs off seven hits and four strikeouts in 5.1 innings.

The Cowboys will be back in action next weekend in Denver, CO to take on the Rangers of Regis.
