It truly is Homecoming Week this week for New Mexico Highlands University. While the big football match-up takes center stage on Saturday, all four of HU's fall sports are in action at home this weekend.
Soccer
Women's soccer literally kicks things off Friday afternoon versus Fort Lewis College. The Cowgirls first home match of the season gets going at 2PM Friday (Oct 1) at the NMHU Soccer Field located one mile north of Mills Ave. on Cinder Road. The Cowgirls close out homecoming week with a Sunday match against Colorado Christian. Game time is noon.
Cross Country
At the same time soccer kicks off, the Men's cross country team will get started at the Gene Torres Golf Course for the only home meet of the year. The women will follow at 2:45PM against squads from Oklahoma Panhandle, Trinidad State, El Paso CC and CSU-Pueblo.
Volleyball
Friday evening, the HU volleyball team takes on CSU-Pueblo at 7PM in Wilson Gym for the first of two weekend matches. The Cowgirls will then face the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs Saturday at 7PM.
Football
The 2021 Homecoming football game has the Cowboys hosting Chadron State University at noon on Saturday, Oct. 2. Tailgating begins at 10AM and fans are reminded tickets should be purchased in advance for all ticketed NMHU athletic events. Look for a full preview here Thursday.
