LAS VEGAS, N.M. --- The New Mexico Highlands men's basketball team took a brief lead in the second half, but fell to Colorado Christian 77-70 on Friday at Wilson Complex.
The Cowboys (6-8, 1-7) trailed 37-28 at the half before rallying back and a 9-0 run by NMHU - capped by back-to-back 3-pointers from
Ja' Vary Christmas - at the 11:46 mark made it 52-51 Cowboys.
But CCU (5-11, 2-8) answered with a 6-0 run and never trailed the rest of the contest.
Sammy Barnes-Thompkins led NMHU with 25 points to go along with three assists.
Andre Adams had 12 points, seven rebounds and three blocks, Christmas finished with 12 points and five rebounds and
Marcus Brown had 11 points and three assists.
The Cowboys return to action 7 p.m. Saturday at home against MSU Denver.
