DENVER --- The New Mexico Highlands baseball team dropped the series finale to MSU Denver 9-6 Sunday at Assembly Athletic Complex.
The Cowboys (5-19, 3-9) fell behind 8-0 after five innings before
Joe Kuhn blasted a grand slam in the top of the sixth to cut the lead in half. But that is as close as NMHU would get until the eighth inning.
Estevan De La O went 2-for-5 with a run while
Mason Wood was 2-for-3 with a triple and run. Eston STorm picked up the loss, going two innings and giving up four runs (two earned) on two hits with three strikeouts and three walks.
NMHU returns home to start a four-game series against Regis starting 3 p.m. Friday at Brandt Baseball Field.
