Durango, Colorado - The New Mexico Highlands volleyball team came up on the short end of a 3-1 decision Saturday against Fort Lewis College. The Skyhawks won the RMAC match 20-25, 25-21, 25-14, 25-17.
The loss dropped the Cowgirls to 1-17 overall and 0-9 in the RMAC. Fort Lewis improves to 9-9 overall and 6-4 in conference play.
Jaylee Gonzales and
Seraiah Morgan led NMHU with 11 kills each while
Angelina Burton recorded 10 kills.
Ashleigh Meyer had 22 assists and
Aziza Morris had two service aces.
Sophia Hendricks-Montes led the Cowgirls with 17 digs. Four players each recorded a block in the match.
NMHU is back in action tomorrow evening traveling to Gunnison to face Western Colorado University. Match time is 5:00 pm. The Cowgirls return home on Wednesday to face in-state rivals Western New Mexico at 6:00 pm.
