Gunnison, Colorado - The New Mexico Highlands volleyball team dropped a 3-1 decision to Western Colorado University on Sunday evening. The Mountaineers won the match 21-25, 25-17, 29-27, 25-15.
The loss dropped the Cowgirls to 1-18 overall and 0-10 in the RMAC. Western Colorado improves to 4-14 overall and 2-6 in conference play.
Offensively,
Aziza Morris led the Cowgirls with 16 kills while
Angelina Burton added 12 kills.
Ashleigh Meyer and
Abby Carlsen recorded 21 and 20 assists respectively.
Jaylee Gonzales had the service ace of the night for NMHU.
Sophia Hendricks-Montes led the Cowgirls with 16 digs on Sunday.
Jada Lawson had six blocks and
Layla Hooks added five blocks.
