Harold K. Brandt Field- The Cowgirls were victorious in both conference games on Saturday against the Adams State Grizzlies. The Cowgirls won game one by a score of 9-1 in five innings. The Cowgirls played a great game where offense and defense both came to perform.
Maya Milano pitched a good game giving up only one run. Milano was one of four Cowgirls to record multiple hits offensively.
Heaven Medina,
Megan Gutierrez, and
Dioni Lincoln joined Milano with two hits in the contest.
During Game 2 the Cowgirls continued building on the momentum gained in game 1. Arianna Ramirez only gave up a total of four hits in seven innings with zero runs. Ramirez closed out game 2 with her 5th strikeout of the match. The Cowgirls had six players register a hit including Ramirez. Carlee Gonzalez and Annika Ruiz both registered two hits in game 2.
Las Vegas, NM- If the Cowgirls can keep up their momentum of great defense with great offense they can make a run in the conference. The Cowgirls have another double header on Sunday starting at 11 am.
