Cowgirls Split Series With Chadron

The Cowgirls battled with Chadron State in both games this afternoon as they split another double header. Unlike yesterday which contained two lopsided games, these games were both down to the wire.

Game 1- The Cowgirls were back and forth with the Eagles and found themselves tied 2-2 at the end of the 7th inning requiring an 8th. In the 7th inning the eagles managed to reach home taking the lead 3-2. The Cowgirls were unable to make it to home plate in the 8th inning and suffered a 3-2 loss.

Game 2- The Cowgirls continued playing competitively in game 2 as they found themselves neck and neck with Chadron once again. The difference was that in Game 2 the Cowgirls were much more successful at bat. As previously stated, this is a team that runs on momentum and once the girls began hitting, it became contagious. Dioni Lincoln had a team high 3 hits followed by Maya Milano who registered two hits. Good hitting combined with Arianna Ramirez only allowing one run rewarded the Cowgirls with their 10th conference victory.

Denver, CO- The Cowgirls will be on the road again next weekend as they take on the Regis Rangers. Regis is currently ranked 4th in the RMAC and this will be a great chance for NMHU to establish themselves in the playoff hunt.
