Las Vegas, New Mexico - The New Mexico Highlands volleyball team dropped the RMAC opener Friday evening in the Wilson Complex 3-0 (25-21, 25-23, 25-21) to visiting Colorado State-Pueblo. With the loss NMHU fell to 1-9 overall while the ThunderWolves improved to 2-7 overall. It was the conference opener for both teams.
Angelina Burton led the way for the Cowgirls with 13 kills in the match.
Aziza Morris and
Jaylee Gonzales added nine and eight kills respectively.
Ashleigh Meyer recorded 18 assists and Megann Waghorn had 17. Burton also had four service aces in the match.
Defensively
Abby Carlsen led with 29 digs and
Layla Hooks had two blocks.
As a team the Cowgirls hit .235 for the match.
Coach
Tom Duke and the Cowgirls have to regroup as they are on the road this evening to face Adams State University. Match time in Alamosa is 7:00 pm.
