Las Vegas, New Mexico - The Cowgirls closed out RMAC Regional Pod play on Saturday afternoon dropping a 3-1 decision to visiting Fort Lewis. NMHU is now 2-11 overall. Pod play matches do not count in the conference standings.
The first two sets were close as the visiting Skyhawks captured the opener 25-19. The Cowgirls bounced back and won the second set 25-23. Fort Lewis closed out the match with wins of 25-14 and 25-10.
For the match Fort Lewis outhit NMHU .208 to .108.
Angelina Burton recorded 12 kills which marks her fifth double digit kill effort of the season.
Abby Carlsen tied a career high with 25 assists.
Defensively,
Jada Lawson and Azizia Morris each had five blocks while
Meg Pfannerstill had four.
Olivia Archuleta led the Cowgirls with 11 digs.
The Cowgirls play their final non-conference of the 2024 season when they travel to Silver City on Tuesday evening for a 6:00 pm match with Western New Mexico.
