Gunnison, Colorado - NMHU defeated Black Hills State 3-2 on Friday afternoon in their second RMAC Power Pod match of the weekend. The Cowgirls are 5-17 overall, Power Pod matches do not count in the RMAC standings.
The Cowgirls took Friday's match by scores of 21-25, 25-20, 23-25, 25-21, 15-12.
As a team, NMHU recorded a season's high 62 kills and 82 digs against Black Hills State. The Cowgirls out-hit the Yellow Jackets .188 to .165 in the match.
Freshman
Aaliyah Krenn didn't play in the opening set, came in and gave the Cowgirls a boost off the bench as she had four kills and five blocks in the match.
Jaylee Gonzales and
Aziza Morris had 19 and 17 kills respectively.
Jada Lawson and
Meg Pfannerstill each had 10 kills in the match.
Abby Carlsen posted 52 assists for the Cowgirls.
Nicole Shaver had a career high 31 digs to lead the Cowgirls. Pfannerstill had 17 digs and
Stella Garcia was also in double-digits with 10 digs. Lawson and Pfannerstill each had four blocks.

The Cowgirls are back on the road next weekend playing at Westminster and Colorado Mesa.
