Durango, Colorado - The Cowboys dropped the second game of the South Central Region Challenge to Eastern New Mexico 94-82 on Saturday afternoon.
The Greyhounds jumped out to an ealy 7-0 on the Cowboys and led by as many as 15 points in the first half. NMHU battled back and cut the Greyhound lead to 42-37 at the half when
Kyrie Thomas made a layup after a
KJ LaMonte steal.
The Cowboys got within one point in the second half when
Blessin Kimble grabbed an offensive rebound and converted the put back to make the score 61-60.
Senior
Kyrie Thomas led four Cowboys in double-figures with 17 points.
TJ Sanchez had 16 points,
Blessin Kimble 14, and
KJ LaMonte added 13. LaMonte also led the Cowboys with a game high five assists.
Kenard Richardson was the Cowboys leading rebounder with eight.
Ezzy Dawson had a game high three steals.Ā Ā
The Cowboys return home to host Northern New Mexico on Wednesday morning in the annual Youth School Day Game presented by Quality Care. Tip-off is at 11:15 am.
