Cowboys Come Up Short At Fort Lewis

Durango, Colorado - The Cowboys had a chance to send Tuesday's game to overtime but a three point shot rimmed out as time expired allowing Fort Lewis to escape with an 80-77 win. NMHU is now 6-4 overall and 0-3 in the RMAC.

The Cowboys found themselves down by 12 points, 79-67, with 1:33 to go in the game. But a furious, rally that saw them outscore the host Skyhawks 10-1 down the stretch, came up just short.

Once again on Tuesday, Kenard Richardson led the Cowboys with 20 points and seven rebounds. Ja'Kwon Hill had a career high 13 points and Daniel Rosenber added 11 points.

NMHU was 25-64 from the floor and 23-28 from the free throw line.

Fort Lewis out rebounded NMHU 42-27.

The Cowboys get an opportunity for a rematch when Fort Lewis visits historic Las Vegas on February 8th.

Coming up on Saturday afternoon, the Cowboys host Adams State. Game time is set for 3:00 pm.
