Las Vegas, New Mexico - Nationally ranked Colorado School of Mines handed the Cowboys a 101-85 loss on Saturday afternoon in the Wilson Complex. NMHU is now 6-3 overall and 0-2 in conference play.
The Orediggers, ranked 13th in the week's NABC Division II Poll, took the lead for good at the 15:09 mark of the first half and used balanced scoring and hot shooting to get the conference road win.
Junior
Blessin Kimble led the Cowboys with 21 points and six rebounds in the game.
Kenard Richardson scored 19 points,
TJ Sanchez had 11 points, and
Ja'Kwon Hill added 10.
Kyrie Thomas had a team high five assists.
As a team, the Cowboys were 29-62 from the floor and 19 of 31 from the free throw line.
The Cowboys hit the road for the first conference road game of the season on Tuesday playing at Fort Lewis. Tip-off in Durango is at 7:30 pm. They return home next Saturday for a 3:00 pm date with Adams State in historic Las Vegas.
